On October 4, 2022, Jay Daniel Jordan “J.D.” at the age of 78, departed this life and entered into eternal Rest in The Comfort of His Home in Howey-In-The-Hills, FL.
Jay was born on March 18, 1944 in Wray, Georgia to the late Rosa Lee (Jordan)-Campbell and Robert Jackson. He was raised in Clermont, FL, where his family relocated after moving from Georgia. J.D., as he was affectionately known, was the eldest of his siblings. He took on the role as “The Man of The House” at the tender age of 17. He unselfishly, and without complaint, gave up the opportunity to go to school and pursue his education. Instead, he made the decision to work and assist his mother in providing for the family.
From that point in his life, until lack of health and strength prevented him from doing so, he always took care of himself and those who were under his care. He wasn’t an educated man, but he was a man who possessed and exhibited morals and character that can’t be learned from a book.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 29 years: Marva J. Jordan; children: David Howard (Yolanda), Mascotte, Florida, Rosemary Babcock, Daytona, Florida, Janet Ward (Chris), Clermont, Florida, Frederick Jordan (Carla), Enterprise, Alabama; two brothers: Calvin McCollough (Emma), Minneola, Florida, Willie Frank Buchannon, Clermont, FL; one sister: Willierene Philbert-Williams (Nathaniel), Clermont, Florida. He also leaves to cherish his memories, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren (one preceded him in death) along with a loving host of family and friends
